There’s a strange space called limbo
There’s a strange space called limbo. I’m in it right now with my job — maybe a little more than usual. But if I’m honest, I’ve lived on the “brink” in my mind for years, always feeling one step away from losing everything.
The mind is powerful like that.
Someone told me recently: If you’re going to let your mind travel to all the bad things that could happen, you also have to let it travel to all the good things that could happen.
That hit me. Because I’m incredibly creative when it comes to worst-case scenarios. I can rehearse disaster in full detail. But I rarely give equal space to unexpected opportunity, alignment, or relief.
And beyond that — maybe the answer isn’t to think better. Maybe it’s to think less.
We don’t always need to solve the future in our heads. Sometimes we need to pause. Breathe. Step outside. Meditate. Let the nervous system settle.
The future will unfold whether we overthink it or not.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do
is let our minds rest.
